dimensional diagram

This adjustable ball mount has a maximum capacity of 22,000 lbs, making it ideal for heavy-duty towing. The solid steel construction is strong enough to handle large trailers and heavy cargo, and the matte powder coat finish will protect the ball mount from rust and corrosion, even after repeated use. The BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount gives you the strength you need to tow your big loads. And its durable, long-lasting construction can stand the test of time.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Because of its sturdy steel construction, this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount can handle loads up to 22,000 lbs, making it perfect for heavy-duty towing jobs.

HD2516 channel

The adjustable channel is made of 5/16" thick, laser-cut steel plates. These steel plates can handle high capacities without bending. And because of the laser cutting, the channel plates have consistently sized pin holes, so you can easily remove or reposition the hitch ball platform.

HD2516 gusset

A 1/2" thick steel gusset is welded between the shank and the channel, bracing the mount and keeping the channel from bending, even at the maximum drop or rise.

bulletproof 2.5 shank

The solid steel shank is CNC -chamfered, making it easy to slide the shank into and out of your hitch receiver. And with no sharp edges on the shank, the powder coating is less likely to chip and peel.

bulletproof hitches ball platform

Each adjustable mount includes a 2-ball platform, which fits in the adjustable channel. The 2 hitch balls are welded onto the solid steel platform for maximum strength and stability.

bulletproof hitches pins and clips

Finally, the pins and clips included with the ball mount are made of heat-treated steel to withstand the heavy weight from your load. The nickel undercoat with zinc topcoat provides corrosion resistance and ensures the strength of the pin.

Setting Up the BulletProof Ball Mount

To set up this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount, insert the 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" shank into your hitch's receiver. Slide the 2-ball platform into the adjustable channel, then use the included pins and clips to secure the platform at the height you need. If you need to switch hitch balls, just remove the pins and clips, flip the ball platform over, and reinsert the pins and clips to secure the balls in place. It's that easy.

Because of this mount's significant drop, it's recommended that you install a stabilizer kit (358stabilizerbars - sold separately) to prevent any wobbling and to remove strain from your hitch receiver.

BulletProof Ball Mount Accessories

This BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount is compatible with a wide variety of accessories (sold separately). Instead of using the included ball to tow, you can install a weight distribution shank (358WEIGHTDIST) in the channel of the mount to attach your weight distribution system. Add a clevis (358CLEVIS) or shackle attachment (358EDSA) for off-road or recovery operations. Or simply add a hitch step (358STEP) to easily access your truck bed.

Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount for 2-1/2" Hitch

I'm Matt with etrailer and today we're talking about the BulletProof Hitches' two ball mounts and these are gonna have the ability to carry up to 22,000 pounds and the one we actually have installed on our vehicle, it's gonna have a seven inch rise to it. Now you can get this in a couple other sizes too. They're all gonna have the same rate capacity. The only thing that's different is gonna be the rise. It's gonna be a great option for you if you find yourself constantly hauling with a lot of different trailers or you're hauling with a lot of different trucks too because what this is gonna do is accommodate for that difference in your rise and drops. What's gonna give it that ability to accommodate for those different drops and rises is gonna be this channel here in the shank.

The way this works is we're gonna have these pins and once we remove them, we can actually put this into different positions. So make sure you have a hand on it or it drop on you. But if you need only a few inches of a drop, all you have to do was just move this to a different position and put these pins back through. But if that occasion ever arises where you actually need that rise, we have to flip the whole unit. So I'll just pull out this pin and clip that's attaching it to the hitch itself.

Now it doesn't come with a hitch or pin and clip with this, so you have to buy one separately if you wanna attach it to your hitch and then you'll just flip it around, you'll notice we have two different holes we can use. That's just gonna depend on what case use you wanna use this for. I'll talk a little bit more about that later on and then push this back into place, run that pin through. And now you can see we have a rise. The reason why when you're hauling with different size trailers, it's important to know or be able to accommodate to those rise and drops is because if I'm only in this location right now and I have something that I'm hauling and this coupler is way up here, it's gonna cause us not to have an even fitment to our trailer.

So what this is allowing us to do is accommodate to our trailer to make sure everything is level. Now, if you do need help trying to figure out what rise or drop you need, we have plenty of help articles on our website that you can check out. Not only will you be able to adjust where your ball mount sits in this channel, but you can also pick which ball mount you want to use. So the one we have on top is gonna be our 2 5/16 ball mount, and that's gonna have our carrying capacity to tow up to 22,000 pounds. If I flip this around, all you have to do is just move around like that, push it back into place.

We're gonna have our two inch ball mount, which has a capacity to haul up to 12,000 pounds. Now it's important that you make sure what your vehicle is capable of carrying so you don't overload anything and damage your vehicle itself. We get a few measurements just to see how this is gonna fit on the back of your vehicle. How you can add this or figure out how this is gonna look on your car is just by finding where the center of your hitch pin hole is and then measuring out to the furthest point out. In our case, that's gonna be about 15 inches. So definitely account for 15 inches onto your vehicle too. Now that's gonna be in the furthest position. Earlier I was talking about these two different holes. Get a better look at it by taking this out, right here. That's gonna be about 15 inches in total length. Now if you push it into this next point, that's gonna be about 14 inches. In my opinion, I think if you're just looking for the ability to adjust to whatever trailer or truck you're hauling with, and especially if you are hauling with different ones a lot, then I think this would be a really good option for you. Now if you want something that's gonna provide you a little bit more of a clean finish to your vehicle and you don't want to just take off the ball and just store it somewhere you want it to stay on the actual housing or the shank, then I'd recommend the B&W ball mounts, because the way that's gonna work is the ball mounts themself can actually flip around to the other side underneath. So when you are driving around, you don't have to see this just constantly sitting there, but that's gonna be a little bit more of a premium price point and which one you need is really gonna depend on what weight capacity you're hauling with and your rise and drop too. That's just a look at our BulletProof Hitches' ball mounts. Thanks for watching.

  • Recommended Adjustable Ball Mount With 16" Of Drop For A 2-1/2" Hitch
There is indeed a BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with 16" of drop/rise designed for your 2-1/2" hitch. The # HD2516 will have the same 22,000 pound capacity and will let you use it without the reducer sleeve. One potential add-on will be the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062. This is, in my opinion, the best ant rattle device on the market and with the weight capacities the # HD2516 can handle, I recommend it. It's a simple design, but it is highly affective.
